Sail, Paddle and Row at the WIBC this summer!
The WIBC is a community run, recreational boat club that offers sailing, rowing, and canoeing and kayaking for the whole family. Summer Kid’s Camps, Learn to Row Clinics, seasonal rowing in a quad, 4 or double, and weekly family race nights all crammed into our short but fabulous summer here on the island!
Steps from the summer ferry dock in Marysville, the WIBC also has canoes and kayaks to rent for island visitors.
Incorporated in 2011 as a not-for-profit, the WIBC is run by volunteers and generously supported by its sponsors, various municipal, provincial and federal grants, and annual community fundraisers including a team of bottle counters and book sellers!
Members, friends and visitors include Wolfe Islanders, seasonal cottagers, Kingstonians, and visiting tourists who enjoy getting out on the water with friends and family.
Join today and have access to the WIBC fleet that includes Lasers, Pirates, rowing shells, canoes, and kayaks. The equipment list also includes a safety coach boat, hand held radios, lifejackets, and all the safety gear you need to get out on the water. The WIBC is housed in a waterside village house next to the public dock in Marysville just steps from the ferry dock.
The WIBC is generously supported by the community of Wolfe Island but would not be sustainable without the federal, provincial and municipal grants that allow us to employ students, and upgrade our equipment. The WIBC would like to thank Ontario Trillium for their ongoing support. With our most recent grant from Ontario Trillium our new accessible ramps and floating dock have been delivered and are in the water at the Wolfe Island Boat Club making us ready for a spring launch into an exciting season of rowing and sailing. The project was funded with the generous support of the Trillium Foundation. Our new rolling boat storage racks and accessible ramps were made by the students of the Manufacturing and Metalworking class at LaSalle Secondary School. Safe access to the water is a welcome addition for our club. The new docks are adjustable and allow us to adapt to changing water levels.
